Sipping flight
This piece is meant to be displayed in your home to bring joy to any room! It is also meant to be used and loved. I designed it imagining whiskey sippers, but they also work great for tea, kombucha, or holding Q-tips or succulents.
The plinth is made from fallen ash trees in Northern Wisconsin. I designed the plinth, and my uncle, a woodworker, crafted into a beautiful piece to hold my cups.
I threw the cups on the potters' wheel in porcelain. I glazed them and fired them to cone 6, then hand painted gold luster accents. I fired them a third time to adhere the gold. These cups are food safe and dishwasher safe.
*The cups are NOT microwave safe (due to the gold)
